Blooming in Westport, NY

Aside from working on all of the incredible things coming up at the Depot Theatre - some soon (Soup & A Play Reading on Sunday, April 29! Kick-off Bingo on Saturday, May 5!) and some less soon (Rummage Sale over Memorial Day Weekend! Opening Night on June 22!), it hasn't been difficult to keep busy and entertained in my off-Depot Theatre hours.

Between Westport, Essex, Wadhams, Elizabethtown, and all of the other towns within a short drive of the Depot, there is something fun to do at practically anytime! There are lectures and movie screenings and fundraisers and dances happening every night of the week. And it turns out I don't need to miss brunch or happy hour (two of my favorite regular weekly events in NYC!). What we're REALLY excited about here at the theatre is the newly renovated Westport Hotel & Tavern just next door to us. It's a gorgeous bar/tavern/restaurant that we can't wait to share with all of our patrons and artists. Let them know the Depot Theatre sent you, and no doubt they'll treat you like the V.I.P.s all of our audience members are (though I'm certain they'll already be taking pretty good care of you anyway).

Speaking of V.I.P.s, there aren't a heck of a lot of people more important to the Depot Theatre than the folks who are a part of our Volunteer Guild. If you've got the time and the interest, we're always on the lookout for more hands working in the garden or selling concessions or doing any number of important things. There are always new opportunities for community members to take a real hands-on role in the operation of Westport's own hometown theatre, and enjoy some great extra perks along with it. Visit the Volunteer Page of our website for even more information.

See y'all soon!

- Y. Angel Wuellner, Managing Director of Depot Theatre
