My friends all know that I like a good party. I have been looking forward to the Depot Theatre Gala since I was hired in April. Give me a good reason to dress up, eat yummy food, drink, and dance and just try to keep me from being there. And this Gala did not disappoint. If you want to see some of the great photos of the fun you are either a) responsible for or b) going to be sorry you missed, please check out the Depot Theatre Gala Facebook Page.
I feel like every one of these posts goes on and on about how much we’ve got going on at the Depot Theatre this summer – but the truth is that it just won’t stop! We’ve got a little something planned for everyone, whatever your tastes. I’m going to just have to turn my whole office wall into a calendar at this point in order to not only keep track of all of our Depot activities but to make sure I squeeze some time in to enjoy all of the cool things happening in and around Westport.
Well, we're closing in on the end of July and are almost halfway through our 2012 season. We've been so lucky to have such amazing shows with wildly talented casts and crews attended by our smart-as-a-whip audience members. Hound of the Baskervilles (sponsored by Skidmore College) has opened to rave reviews and we simply couldn't be happier (partly because the show is just that darn funny).
Well, we're heading into the closing weekend for CARELESS LOVE, the sweet, soon-to-be-mega-hit we opened our season with. On top of our already scheduled mainstage shows, we've added a benefit performance to Friday, July 6 at 2pm where you can name-your-own-price with all proceeds going to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. We've been getting rave reviews and this is definitely a show you won't want to miss. Just call our box office at 962-4449.
I am writing this blog and listening to the joyous strains of bluegrass coming from inside the Depot Theatre. CARELESS LOVE has opened and our 2012 season is happening!
Since my last blog post we've seen the arrival of our Technical Director, the Stage Manager of CARELESS LOVE, and our Box Office Manager. Shami and our tireless volunteers have been working non-stop to prepare the housing for our incredible casts & crews. Set designs, rehearsal schedules, and brochures have been created and distributed. More subscriptions and single show tickets are being purchased every day. Actors start arriving tomorrow.
