The Depot Theatre is committed to providing professional theatre productions and outreach services to the Adirondack region and to creating a vibrant, nurturing artistic home for diverse theatre artists in which they can further develop their craft. This strong commitment to the individual artist is the hallmark of The Depot Theatre experience. Emphasis is placed on gathering artists who enhance the professional quality of Depot Theatre productions, and whose shared knowledge, sense of humor and respect - for the playwright, fellow artists and audience - enriches all.

Kent Burnham* (Rory O’Rourke) is very excited to back at The Depot, having appeared in Almost, Maine in 2009. Recent credits include Wittenberg, Orphans, Awake and Sing, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Tempest, Of Mice and Men, and Night of the Iguana.

Jeff Foote (BUCK) is excited to be a part of the NY premiere of Riffin & Tappin. 
This marks Jeff’s debut at the Depot. Regional credits include Hairspray, Ragtime, Lady Be Good and Man Who Came To Dinner at Surflight Theater. He was also a ensemble member in 42nd Street with Jersey Shore Entertainment in Reno, NV and played Sammy Davis Jr. in “Tribute To The Rat Pack”.

Shami McCormick (Artistic Director) Shami McCormick stepped into the Depot Theatre for what she thought would be one season (1980); three children and three decades later, she is still [happily] there. Shami is a member of Actors' Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Actors and has appeared in several Depot productions throughout the years.
From Bingo to Broadway: The History of the Depot Theatre
IT ALL STARTED WITH THE BUILDING. The Depot Theatre was founded in 1979 by Carol Buchanan, former President of the Westport Historical Society, which maintained stewardship over the historic Westport train station. The Historical Society saw the potential for cultural activity in the partially renovated D&H train station, and decided to begin presenting theatre in the space. They turned to a unique funding solution to accomplish that goal: Wednesday Night Bingo. Initially this venture raised the tidy sum of nearly $3,000.

George Davis (President) George Davis is a writer, teacher and web developer currently recovering from seduction (and kidnapping) by an old house. He is/was a founding board member of Champlain Area Trails; cofounder of Margaux Europe Group and Maison Margaux; Head of Humanities at the American School of Paris and Santa Fe Preparatory School; a founding board member of the Christopher Emmet Hallowell Fund; board member of Historic Essex (ECHO); and member of the Champlain Valley Committee for the Adirondack Nature Conservancy.
Beth Glover (Vice-President; Program Committee, Chair) Beth Glover is a professional actress, singer and director who lives in NYC. She fell in love with The Depot and The Adirondacks 14 years ago. Her credits include Broadway national tours, TV commercials, independent films, regional theatres, etc. Favorite roles include: Big Edie/Little Edie in the first regional production of Grey Gardens for which she won the San Francisco Bay Area Best Actress Award; Adelaide in Guys & Dolls at the Depot among others; Ellie in the World Premiere of The Good Girl is Gone. John Klipper (Treasurer; Finance Committee, Chair) John Klipper was appointed by President Clinton in 1994 to the Board of the Romanian-American Enterprise Fund (RAEF) and was subsequently elected president and CEO of the Fund. RAEF was a $50 million fund set up by the U.S. Congress to help Romania in its transition to a free-market economy. The original $50 million were parlayed into approximately $150 million which will constitute the endowment of a recently established foundation called the Romanian-American Foundation. Mr. Klipper is also the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Balkan Accession Fund, a €110 million private equity fund, and is a member of the Investment Committee of the Emerging Europe Accession Fund. Both funds are private equity funds and invest in Southeast Europe, including Turkey.
